Dr. Curtis is a lifelong resident of Illinois, growing up on the south edge of Cook County. Although his upbringing was in an outer suburb, he longed to live and work in a more rural setting.
After college, Dr. Curtis attended the University Of Illinois College Of Dentistry, then completed his orthodontic residency at Northwestern University in 1986, serving as President of his class for both years.
Dr. Curtis met his wife, Christine, in college. Chris later attended dental school at the University of Illinois, and they started their family of four children: Elise, Danny, Robbie and Mac, during the next 7 years.
Upon graduation, Dr. Curtis was invited to join the orthodontic practices of three of his Northwestern professors. He worked and learned from these teachers as he looked for the perfect location to set down roots. In 1988, he visited Sycamore and knew he had found the community he wanted to serve. He purchased a rundown Victorian home, started renovation, and saw his first DeKalb County patients in June 1988, the start of 25 years of service! In 1994, Dr. Curtis moved with his family to the farm where he currently resides.
Dr Curtis feels blessed to practice orthodontics in DeKalb County. He treasures the relationships he has made during the past 25 years. When he is not helping people improve their health and appearance, he is working on his farm, visiting his kids, running or biking with Chris, or working on church or community services projects. Dr. Curtis plans to practice and teach orthodontics for many years to come!
